The Vivo S17 lineup was sighted in the leak-verse. The company is allegedly R&D-ing a fresh batch of semi-flagship Androids going by the titles Vivo S17e, Vivo S17, and Vivo S17 Pro. Before today, only a few reports headlined these handsets with nothing more than the model numbers and monikers. However, today's leak delves further into the phone's chipset details.

According to the Weibo tipster Wisdom Pikachu, the S17 trio is imminent with a set of noteworthy SoCs. The highest-ranking set, S17 Pro, might feature Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Following it will be the vanilla S17 handset mounted with Dimensity 8200 chip.

The cheapest variant from the series, Vivo S17e, will flaunt the Snapdragon 778 chipset, which still ranks among some of the best Android chips in the mid-range segment. The lineup oddly resembles Oppo's incoming Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro, and Reno 10 Pro+ phones, carrying the same assortment of processors.

They are both rival lineups and per the tipster, they will both follow a similar launch routine. The latest Vivo flagship mobile will depart in May, slightly before China's online 618 shopping fest. With the rival chain capitalizing on the surge in consumer spending during the festival, Vivo is likely to respond with its own S-class series, parallel to the Reno series debut in May.

Additionally, the rumor mill has discovered that the Vivo S17 handsets will feature several common elements, including a curved AMOLED screen, a rear shell that changes colors, and primary cameras powered by gimble stabilization.

Depending on the prices, the lower S17 models will offer 8 GB to 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB to 256 GB of storage; meanwhile, the higher S17 Pro might boast up to 16GB RAM. The essential details about the series are yet to pan out. So stay tuned for more updates.
