As WhatMobile reported earlier in a post, a mystery Vivo model (purported to be the Vivo S5) was spotted in a video featuring Vivo S-series’ brand ambassador, Cai Xukun. The Chinese brand has now officially released a promo for confirming this upcoming device as the Vivo S5 and it might hit store shelves as early as November.
Unfortunately, the promo still keeps the specs and features of Vivo S5 under wraps, but the teaser did confirm the much-rumored name of the anticipated flagship. And on top of it, we also got a peek into the design of the upcoming phone.
While we wait for TENNA listings to divulge specs and design details, the teaser video showcases the back panel of the device sporting a bright blue-to-pink gradient finish and a rather unique quad-camera setup in a diamond-shaped arrangement. From the looks of it, the phone will rock an in-display fingerprint reader which gives the back of the phone a fairly clean and minimal look.
And if you take a closer look, you can also make out a top-mounted 3.5 mm headphone jack. To recall, the back of the phone certainly bodes a fresh aesthetic, but the hardware details remain a mystery. Needless to say, there as much hype as there is a mystery around this phone.
The teaser poster revealed points to five different color options available, hence the moniker S5. Note that this imminent release was preceded by S1 and S1 Pro, and the jump from Vivo S1 to S5, likely has something to do with the five color options. The tagline “Vivo S5 illuminate your beauty” which, along with the fresh camera design, hints at this model being a camera-centric offering.
