Vivo S7e 5G Announced: 33W Fast Charging, OLED Screen, and 64MP Camera

Apart from the 4g enabled Vivo V20 flagship launch in Pakistan, Vivo has been flooding its home market with cheaper 5G phones - - all powered by MediaTek's entry-level Dimensity line of chipsets. And the trend continues as the ever-expanding catalog now features a new entry, the Vivo S7e 5G.

It was announced as a new device in China, to round off the S7 series. If you keep track of Vivo's inconsistent, confusing naming scheme, Vivo S7e isn't a variant of the Vivo S7 (which itself is named Vivo V20 Pro in several markets), but a tweaked version of Vivo Y73s that came out last month.

It has the same processor, display, battery, and recycled design, but a higher-res camera array and faster charging. Instead of a 48MP standard camera, Vivo S7e's rear camera is 64MP, and the front camera is 32MP (double the 16MP resolution).

But they're not necessarily an upgrade since the 48MP lens on Vivo S7e has a wider f/1.79 aperture compared to the new f/1.89. The other two cameras, the 8MP 120° ultrawide and the 2MP bokeh sensor remain the same. overall a nice addition to the Vivo price list.

Other than the cameras, the S7e 5G also offers faster charging speeds over 33W (souped-up from 18W) for the same underpowered 4100 mAh battery - - which will be taking strain because of the resource-hungry 5G radio inside. The rest of the phone is essentially the same. You're looking at the 6.44" FHD+ OLED screen with a notch on top.

The back of the Vivo S7e  comes in two finishes: sunburst and a new dynamic hue design inspired by Oppo Reno 3 series, from Vivo's BBK Electronics cousin. Under the hood, it’s MediaTek’s Dimensity 720G 5G handling the number crunching. The memory and storage configuration is still 8GB+128GB.
