The only S-series ever launched in Pakistan was the Vivo S1 lineup back in 2019. We don't know if a successor will ever make it to the local market again but the latest of the S-series, the Vivo S9 5G is reportedly launching in China on March 6. It has already been featured in a Google Play Listing, revealing front design and specs. The gaps left by that document were filled in by a trusted Chinese phone leaker today.
Based on the Google Play Console database, the Vivo S9 5G has a wide notch to hold a dual front camera setup. The screen, surrounded by lightweight bezels, delivers a full HD resolution. But the listing doesn’t go into the specifics.
Digital Chat Station, the Chinese phone leaker, notes that we’re looking at a 6.44” OLED panel that peaks at 90Hz (the first model in the Vivo S-series to feature a high refresh rate.) The front camera duo is led by a 44MP camera. And an 8MP camera for wide-angle selfies joins it, according to a different source. On the back, S9 5G’s primary camera uses a 64MP sensor.
The Vivo mobile price is not yet known. As far as the specs are concerned, Vivo S9 5G has the recently-introduced MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chip. It’s paired with 12GB of memory and the latest Android11-based OriginOS 1.0. The base storage is rumored to be 128GB.
It’s all backed up by a 4000 mAh battery that fast charges over 33W. Reportedly, the technology can fill the device up to 66% in under half an hour. The S9 5G lacks a slot for storage expansion as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. And the fingerprint scanner rests underneath the display.
