Following a brief promo campaign, Vivo just unveiled their brand new midrange T-series. This series features Vivo T1x and T1 — both editions are now available in Vivo’s home market, China. Since it’s a new lineup, it’s too early to predict if the phones will land in the global market.

Both editions are built on comparable specs except for the chipsets. Vivo T1 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. It's a 5G platform designed on a 6nm process.

Vivo paired it with up to 256GB of fast UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB of virtually extended memory. The latest OriginOS, based on Android11, powers the T1. The battery backup is 5000 mAh, and it flash-charges over 44W. It’s advertised to deliver a 70% charge in just 38 minutes.

The display is surrounded by a trimmed, even bezel. It’s an IPS LCD that peaks at a 1080P resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, but only at 650 nits of brightness. Vivo T1 houses the front camera inside an O-hole cutout. And it can render HDR10+ content. Lastly, the camera system is made of 64 MP wide, 8MP ultra-wide, and low-res sensors. The camera in the cutout is 8MP.

Vivo T1x adopts MediaTek silicon, Dimensity 900 to be specific. The RAM, battery, and other internal specs are shared between the two models. The same goes for the display, albeit at 6.58” it’s smaller in size.

But Vivo T1x has a trimmed-down camera system. Instead of the ultra-wide lens, the 64MP lens is joined by a 2MP macro camera. Both phones have plastic bodies, side fingerprint readers, and 3.5mm audio jacks.
