Vivo rehashed last year’s V17 as Vivo V19 for the Indonesian market, but thanks to Vivo’s naming antics, the ‘Vivo V19’ title is shared by another upcoming mid-range device. The company had scheduled it for release in Pakistan last month, but the launch was delayed because of the Coronavirus outbreak. Ahead of the launch, a leak has given us another preview of V19, as well as Vivo Y50.
The leak itself stems from a Google Play Console listing that details the design and a handful of specifications for the aforementioned duo. Let’s start with Vivo V19 first as it is bound to hit the Pakistani market soon.
The V19 bears the model number 1933 and runs on a Snapdragon 712 chipset. The CPU has eight cores clocked at 2.3GHz, combined with an Adreno 616 GPU that does the number crunching for graphics.
The storage configuration isn’t listed, but the SoC is connected with at least 8GB of RAM. The hardware will run on the FuntouchOS 10, which is based on the current-gen Android 10 – no surprises there.
The display is a 6.44-inch AMOLED panel that delivers an FHD+ resolution (probably at a 60Hz refresh rate). It houses a dual selfie camera inside a pill-style notch. There are no details for the front or rear cameras available yet.
The Vivo Y50 carries the model number 1935. It features a single punch-hole design installed in a 6.3-inch screen that produces an FHD+ resolution. A Snapdragon 665 chipset powers this device, rounded off by 6GB of RAM. The internals are also powered by the Android-10-based FuntouchOS 10, however, no word on the Vivo price tag yet.
Vivo hasn’t shared the revised launch schedule yet and given the pandemic, even when it does, there’s no telling if the release date won’t be pushed back again.
