Vivo’s latest V-series phone, the Vivo V19 is scheduled to launch in Pakistan on May 14, according to Vivo’s social media. The company had been delaying the release of the device, since March. The phone only went official on April 29 – and two weeks later, it’s headed to Pakistan.
The design you’re looking at is typical of an upper-mid-range 2020 sub-flagship: a pill-shaped dual camera on the front and an oversized, elaborate camera bump on the back. Vivo has chamfered the edges and curved the corners, undoubtedly aimed at providing a more ergonomic grip.
The rear shell is plastic, painted in Sleek Silver and Gleam Black colors. Both options offer a 3D embossed look, but the Sleek Silver is a more vibrant multi-hued gradient, while Gleam Black appears more muted, and elegant. The overall build is fairly minimalistic since Vivo has stripped the physical fingerprint scanner and opted for an under-the-display alternative.
The so-called ‘iView’ AMOLED display houses a pill-style cutout in its top-right corner and is skirted by slim bezels all around. The panel measures 6.44 inches and produces an FHD+ resolution. Inside its cutout lives a 32MP camera and its 8MP 105-degree wide-angle neighbor.
The phone is evidently selfie-focused, not in just the robust front camera hardware, but also in the AI algorithms that power these optics. Case in point, the ‘Super Night Selfie’ and the ‘Ultra Stable Selfie Video’ modes.
The quad-camera on the back is arranged in an L-style layout, featuring a 48MP main camera, an 8MP Super Wide Lens, and a pair of 2MP macro and bokeh cameras.
A powerful Snapdragon 712 chip handles processing, in addition to 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of native storage. Vivo has hooked these internals up to a 4,500 mAh battery that supports 33W FlashCharge. Per Vivo’s claim, the quick charging technology can power up your device from 0 to 54 percent in only 30 minutes.
The phone ships with the Android-10-powered FunTouchOS 10, and WhatMobile expects it to start at Rs. 59,999. As part of its campaign, Vivo is asking fans to guess the price tag to win up to five surprise gift boxes.
