Thanks to a handful of leaks, we were already expecting Vivo V19 to launch in early March, but Vivo's official channels have now announced that this sub-flagship will hit stores on March 10 in Indonesia. Alongside the announcement, Vivo Indonesia also published a promo video detailing Vivo V19's camera-centric design.
As seen in the promotional video, the Vivo V19 sports a punch-hole design and ultra-slim bezels. The rear shell features an edge-to-edge gradient look in glossy Blue and White hues. You're also looking at a camera design similar to Samsung's latest flagship series -- the Galaxy S20 lineup.
The four lenses on V19 are laid out in an L-shaped configuration, inside a protruding rectangular bump. The rest of the shell is bare save for Vivo's branding, pointing an under-display optical fingerprint scanner. The trailer also shows off Vivo V19's gaming and low-light photography performance but the Vivo price for the handset is not yet revealed.
Speaking of photography, a 48-megapixel module -- the main camera, is paired with an ultrawide camera, and a pair of depth-assist and portrait shooters. For capturing selfies, the V17 is equipped with a 32-megapixel front-facing lens. If this optics package sounds familiar, that's because it is. Last year's Vivo V17 featured the exact 48MP + 32MP layout as well.
And it's no coincidence either since the Vivo V19 scheduled for launch in Indonesia appears to be a rebranded Vivo V17 with updated color options. Speculation suggests that the Indian edition of Vivo V19 will debut with a pill-style punch-hole kitted out with a twin-camera structure.
If the model shown in the teaser video is, in fact, a reintroduced Vivo V17, you're looking at a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display that delivers an FHD+ resolution. The only change rumored for the device is an upgraded Snapdragon 730G chipset, rounded off by 8 GB of RAM, and a 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W fast-charging will power the hardware.
