Vivo V50 All Set for February Release; V50 Pro Launch Delayed

Vivo V40 series is quickly running out of its six-month cycle after being released in August 2024. We hear the company’s biannual release plan for the V lineup means that the V50 series is only a few weeks away, and a fresh leak from tipster Abhishek Yadav adds more nuance to this belief.

Vivo doesn’t usually stagger its launch for this series, but it is believed that Vivo V50 and V50 Pro might not debut at the same time. The Twitter/X leaker says the Pro variant is delayed, while the vanilla V50 will be crossing the finish line sometime in February. We even saw a bunch of certifications for this device, proving the leaker might be right.

Vivo V50’s first round trip will be to the Malaysian, Taiwanese, and Indian markets, from where it will start deploying in more regions, including Pakistan. Vivo V50 has passed NCC certification, which turned out to be an interesting one, spilling its design in real-life images. You can preview some of them in this article.

It’s quite fortunate that we found the V50’s battery and charging specs on that same listing. NCC said its battery has a Li-ion 5870 mAh capacity, which the latest Vivo V mobile might advertise as 6000 mAh. There was also a mention of its charging speed at a fast 90W input, a slight uptick over the V40’s 80W.

The X leaker spilled a few internal details, like the chipset, storage options, and colors. A Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip is a possibility with V50, which is a chip with almost flagship-grade power. It is the latest and most appropriate for the base V50, but it won’t be a big surprise for the V40 users, since they use the same chip.

This 2.63GHz engine will be wired to either 8 GB or 12 GB RAM. Storage will vary, but you can look forward to at least a base 128 GB and max 256 GB storage option with the V50. Also, this phone will run an Android 15 OS out of the box. The camera specs are still under wraps but you can see in the images that Vivo has collaborated with ZEISS for the lens tune-up. Vivo V50 is coming in February, so the teasers might be dropping any minute. We’ll give you a heads-up whenever that happens, so stay tuned.
