Recently launched in an overseas market, Vivo V50 is now coming to Pakistan very soon. The warm-up for this device has officially begun on Vivo’s social media pages, and the company’s latest post on Facebook marked V50’s debut only two days away. This handset might arrive in Pakistan on Friday, and this is what you can expect.
Vivo cycles through its V series devices every six months, so there’s not a lot here in terms of upgrades over the previous generation. We hear the phone has almost the same size display as before at 6.77” 120Hz but the resolution has been dropped down to 1080p FHD+. Instead of edge panels, Vivo used a Micro Quad-curve flat AMOLED for this phone, which looks just as premium due to its uniform bezels.
Micro quad curve glass could get scratched easily, so Vivo upgraded the front panel with Diamond Shield Glass. We posted a comparison between Vivo V40 and V50 on WhatMobile socials to gauge people’s opinion about the upcoming device, and it seems fans are most disappointed by the downgraded resolution.
There's little excitement around this device since there are not enough upgrades to justify the purchase. Some believe Vivo V40 is still a better choice, and some think that new AI features are the redeeming quality of Vivo's V50. From what we’ve gathered, the consumer sentiment around this device is a mixed bag, but V50 is certainly worth another look if you specifically talk about its battery.
This handset went from Li-ion 5500mAh to now Si/C 6000mAh battery capacity over the generation. The Vivo rate list highlights its latest pricing and features. Instead of 80W wired, you can now recharge it at 90W. There’s more capacity, and the cell charges faster. Let’s not forget that this phone also has the latest Android 15 FunTouch OS 15 shipped as its default UI.
It has an AI suite, just as good as premium Samsung and Pixel phones, with Audio transcriptions and even real-time call translations. This device has three 50 MP sensors, two on the back and one on the front, all overlaid by ZEISS optics. V50 even borrows the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC from its forerunner, so the performance gain will be negligible. We’ll eventually find its memory options and pricing when the phone arrives in Pakistan, so stay tuned for the next report.
