The day has finally come after a long wait. Vivo V50 has gone official in one of the overseas Asian markets and we have all its specs and pricing right here. From what we learned about its hardware, this handset has a lot in common with its forerunner, the Vivo V40, though it does score a bigger battery and faster charging speed.
Vivo V50 has a more nuanced design with subtle curves on all four sides of the screen, rather than the traditional curve design of its predecessor. As you can tell, the micro-quad curve OLED brings the best out of V50’s 6.77” 1080p FHD+ panel, especially with its screen-to-body ratio and uniform bezels.
Micro quad curve glass could get scratched easily, so Vivo upgraded the front panel with Diamond Shield Glass. Of course, the panel underneath is just as massive as before with 4500nits peak brightness. Another not-so-subtle change is the battery capacity.
The Vivo price list continues to shape how the brand positions its latest models. The V50 handset went from Li-ion 5500mAh to Si/C 6000mAh battery capacity over the generation and instead of 80W wired, you can now recharge it at 90W. Sadly, the rest of its specs are pretty much the same as Vivo’s 6-month-old V40.
The Vivo V50 uses three 50 MP shooters, two of which lay on the back as primary and ultrawide sensors, and the third is positioned top-front for selfies and video calls. These are all ZEISS-tuned lenses for perfectly natural color science and high-end optics like the flagship X series.
It has multiple AI options as part of the Android 15 x FunTouch OS 15 package, which you will find right out of the box on this Vivo V50. You have Audio transcription just like Samsung and Pixel phones and even real-time call translations are a part of its AI suite.
Vivo V50 onboards a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip from a semi-flagship category. V40 had the very same SoC with a 2.63GHz clock and an Adreno 720 GPU. So, the performance won’t see a big jump. The phone still has 12 GB max RAM and 512 GB storage. But, with the base trim, the V50 also has an 8/128GB option. $402 (~PKR 112,000) seems to be the official starting price for Vivo V50. It goes as high as $472 (~PKR 131,000) for the 12/512GB variant.
