Vivo V50 Lands in Pakistan: Pre-Orders Open, No Red Color, Small Tweaks Over V40

The wait is over. Vivo V50 goes official in Pakistan as promised, and it brings an upgraded battery with faster charging speeds than the parent V40. The company did give this device a newer Android 15 OS, but there are just a few key changes to report this time. Vivo has revamped the phone's appearance slightly, but it’s essentially the same old Vivo V40 with minor upgrades. The V50 arrives in new colors—except for Rose Red, which won’t be available in Pakistan, at least for the time being.

Vivo V50 kept almost the same screen size as last time at 6.77”. Put against the V40, it uses a different type of AMOLED display, flat at the edges with micro-curves on all four sides, which is innovative, but not quite as premium as the older design. There’s more bad news. The display’s resolution has been demoted from 1.5k to 1080p this time. That's one reason why fans are calling the Vivo V50 a downgrade over the previous generation.

Luckily enough, it still brings the same 120Hz refresh rate and 4500 nits brightness with HDR10+ rating. This type of AMOLED screen is also easier to scratch, so understandably, V50 provides a Diamond Shield Glass here vs. the V40’s battle-tested Schott Xensation Alpha.

V50 is thicker than V40 (7.67mm vs. 7.58mm), and it also weighs more (199g vs. 190g). The dimensions vary from color to color. If you want the slimmest variant, you must choose the Satin Black option with a 7.39mm profile. Otherwise, you have two more finishes in Misty Purple, and Starry Blue colors. The centerpiece for this design is cameras. Unlike the last generation, all the cameras on Vivo V50 are co-engineered with ZEISS, even the selfie cam has ZEISS treatment for better front portraits.

Vivo gave this handset essentially the same triple 50 MP lens assortment as the V40. All the cameras record 4K videos, including the 50 MP selfie camera, which can do 4K 30 FPS recording. It’s upgraded wider FOV 23mm 50 MP OIS main and the ultrawide 50 MP secondary unit are tuned by ZEISS to give you flagship-level image quality.

This newcomer has something called a BlueVolt 6000mAh battery, which might be another name for the Si/C material used to build it. It’s a new type of battery technology, which packs more energy at the same weight and thickness as Li-ion cells. The new flagship Vivo mobile recharges it at a faster 90W input (upgraded from V40’s 5500mAh x 80W charging).

It will ship with the latest FOS 15 x Android 15 system, not to forget that it also has a built-in AI suite due to its chipset. Vivo V50 is built around a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, 12 GB RAM, and a dedicated GPU with some AI and ISP units. This phone even brings a UFS 3.1 storage solution for all the variants. Also, the phone borrowed an IP68/IP69 rating from its forerunner, and it can now do underwater photography as well.

Vivo V50 officially costs Rs. 139,999 in Pakistan for the 256 GB trim and Rs. 149,999 for the 512 GB variant. The pre-booking for Vivo V50 will officially begin on March 8th, and the units will be dispatched on March 15th with pre-order gifts. For booking the device online, buyers will get Rs. 5000 worth of Ronin Earbuds for free. If the device is booked offline, every V50 unit will be shipped with a free Bluetooth Speaker. The official sales period for this device is between the 15th and the 23rd of March after the pre-order window closes.
