The latest Vivo V50 is in its testing phase, slowly but surely, making its way to the debut. EEC cleared this device for a European launch not weeks ago, and just as it was starting to fade in the background over the noise of new smartphone releases, NCC blew the whistle on some of its secrets.
NCC is a Taiwanese telecom authority, and the Vivo V50 listed on the platform’s database is a clear sign that its debut is closer than we initially thought. It was assigned the model code V2427 on the NCC listing. We followed it through the certification and found its images in the documentation.
V50’s measurements and real-life photos have been exposed in one fell swoop. Even the color options are shown in the images here. As you can see, this handset is about 160mm tall and 74mm wide, and folks in China agree that it looks very much like the Vivo S20 released in November.
It may look like a Vivo S20 from the outside, but is this the same case for the insides? As it turns out, the battery details revealed by NCC differ from the Vivo S20. NCC shared images of the charger adapter and the battery pack, so we know the size and the supported wattage of the Vivo flagship new model.
This battery in the image is a Li-Ion cell with a 5870 mAh capacity, which V50 might advertise as a full 6000 mAh. S20 is a different story with its Si/C battery and a denser 6500 mAh capacity. It wouldn’t be a big surprise if these phones departed in other categories. 6000mAh is still more than enough for the Vivo V40 successor, and don’t forget that it also has a 90W fast adapter for refills. Its details are slowly coming out, so stick around for more news about Vivo V50.
