Vivo V50 Officially Teased; New Colors and 50MP Triple Camera Revealed

The leak spree has been helpful, but now it’s Vivo’s turn to reveal the plans for its upcoming premium mid-ranger Vivo V50. We finally see the device on the company’s official website with a dedicated launch page that reveals key specifications and color options.

Vivo V50 might launch by the end of February, but the exact date is still a mystery. The landing page did, however, spill the Rose Red, Starry Blue, and Titanium Grey color options for this device. The red color seems to be the central theme for Vivo 50 this year.

The leaks have been mostly accurate, as confirmed by the launch site for Vivo V50 in an overseas Asian market. Its camera setup is co-engineered with ZEISS, so its quality might be on par with some of Vivo’s flagship handsets.

From what we have gathered, Vivo 50 installed dual 50 MP shooters on the rear circular module, one with the primary OIS lens and the other doing ultrawide photos. Of course, the ring you see under the cameras is Vivo’s signature Aura Ring LED light.

Vivo didn’t skimp out on the front camera, which is usually the most common category where other companies save the costs. Latest Vivo flagship mobile decided to go with a 50 MP selfie shooter, ZEISS-optimized colors, and AutoFocus support for the front camera to help with the face cam videos.

Vivo V50 is also IP68 and IP69 rated, so it will survive even when submerged in the 1.5m deep water. The Red Rose color is captivating enough on its own, but the Starry Blue version uses the company’s 3D-Star Technology for a shimmering backplate, visualizing the effect of the night sky.

The design you see here is a familiar one for us. We’ve seen it before on the Chinese Vivo S20, and the rumor mill says the V50 shares some specs with this device as well. If that’s the case, it should mount a 6.67” curved AMOLED panel on the front with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5k resolution.

NCC certification shows the phone has a 6000mAh cell with a 90W charging speed. Vivo might continue to update the landing page with more and more details as the launch inches closer. Expected to cost around the same Vivo v40 price bracket, Hopefully, the remaining specs and pricing will come out by the time Vivo V50 debuts.
