Vivo X Flip Clamshell in Works; Design Schematics and First-ever Mockups Leaked

Vivo's latest foldable line might have an added clamshell flip phone to boast this time. BBK-owned chain, following in the footsteps of a partner brand Oppo will expand its foldable portfolio with a pocket-sized vertical screen folder dubbed Vivo X Flip. There hasn't been any official announcement yet, but a phone schematic is doing rounds on the internet.

The revered leak-teller Digital Chat Station gave the mockup and Schematic away in one of his Weibo mini posts. The design is highly controversial and not too pleasing to look at. Whether or not the chain will go for this blueprint is a whole other debate.

The principal camera unit resides in a circular disc immediately underlined by a horizontal-spanning cover display. With the lens disc shunted to the side, The approaching addition to the Vivo price catalog bears a lot of blank space in the top right corner. Minimal Zeiss branding and 3-stroke vertical LED are there to favor the aesthetics of X Flip, yet they fail.

The mockup isn't precisely a render-backed image. The illustration image seems to have cropped elements from the Vivo X70 Pro attached to X flip. Four cameras are on the print, but that does not necessarily mean they are confirmed. There's still a lot we haven't discovered. We recommend not taking this image as is.

Vivo's collaboration with Zeiss is an on-brand and a typical thing to expect, so that seems to be a safe bet. Since clamshell foldable sets from competitors usually don't offer the same level of photography as their traditional flat counterparts, using Zeiss' help could be an interesting choice by Vivo. There's nothing much out there in the province of its hardware, but the tipster claims Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 at X Flip's helm. The handset will cost way more than the Vivo X80's recommended retail price in Pakistan.
