The Vivo X200 Ultra is a beast of a camera phone that’s expected to debut on April 21st in China. The company recently confirmed some of its sensor specs, including the detachable lens accessory. Even more details abound today as Vivo revealed its chipset, battery, and display built with some new technologies.

As you may have heard before, the Vivo X200 Ultra has a camera rig built around a massive 200 MP periscope telephoto shooter. It was recently confirmed that this new handset will bring an additional camera accessory, which is a detachable 200mm super-telephoto lens made specially for the X200 Ultra.

The company’s official Weibo post provided a glimpse of what the accessory looks like in a promo image, but that’s not all. The latest teasers from Vivo gave away the phone’s chipset details as well. The newcomer seems to use the company’s proprietary VS1 and V3+ silicons for the pre/post-processing of the photos and videos.

These chips work alongside the X200 Ultra’s primary SoC, which is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite with a 4.32GHz clock speed. Something even more interesting comes with the device’s front 6.82” display. It’s not the exact description of the screen, but it does point out some new technologies employed here, giving us a better idea of what to expect in terms of performance and positioning within the broader Vivo price list.

On the front of Vivo’s X200 Ultra lies a 2K Zeiss Master Color display, which is most likely an AMOLED panel with circular polarized light technology that’s easier on the eyes, per the company. It will be protected by Gorilla Armour Glass, and, like any other phone in the premium category, this new device brings an Ultrasonic fingerprint ID.

Another thing you should note is a massive 6000mAh battery inside the X200 Ultra. There’s a 40W wireless input and a 90W fast wired charging support here. Bypass charging should be helpful when the device is being used while plugged in. This should also bring the temperatures down during some intense workloads.

Everything will be packed in an 8.7mm thick brick, which is disappointing since most of the competitors have way thinner devices with “Ultra” name branding. At least it has the IP69 rating for water resistance. More details about the device should come out at a later date. We’ll keep our ears to the ground for more updates. So, stay tuned for a follow-up story.  The Vivo X200 Pro has already launched globally, giving us an early look at what to expect from the series.
