Vivo X80 series is the upcoming line of flagship phones from the phone maker. It has already been featured in a few piecemeal reports and leaks. And Vivo has now kicked off the pre-release promo campaign for the X80 series.
Official teasers posted on Vivo China’s social media pages give us early previews and the launch timeline. Vivo has mildly redesigned the camera plate of the Vivo X70 Pro's successor, and the camera housing stretches across the width of the casing. It’s a polished mirror accent with three lenses bound inside a ring and a fourth periscope-telephoto shooter flanking the matrix.
Vivo co-engineered these cameras with ZEISS optics (no surprises there if you’re familiar with Vivo’s typical flagship line.) But the image signal processor crunching the data is custom-made. It’s called the V1, and it replaces the default ISP inside the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 at the heart of the Vivo X80 series.
The Vivo X80 and X80 Pro rock 6.78” E5 AMOLED screens, while the Pro+ variant of the new X Vivo mobile features a QHD+ LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display. The next-gen LTPO panel can dynamically adjust the refresh rate for improved power saving.
Lastly, the base X80 model has a 50MP wide, 12MP ultra-wide, and 12MP telephoto cluster. On the other hand, the X80 Pro and Pro+ include quad-lens cameras: 50MP+48MP+50MP+50MP. We’ll learn more when the three phones officially drop on April 25. The trio will be rolled out to China first before heading to the global market.
