The never-ending cycle of Vivo Y-series releases continues as Vivo prepares to introduce its first entry-level phone of the year. The upcoming Vivo Y01 will debut in Europe. No official word is out yet, but a credible publication leaked a detailed report on the phone.
MySmartPrice covers the Vivo Y01 specification sheet, the press images, and the pricing. We’ll start with the display. It’s a 6.51” IPS LCD with a notch and an unremarkable 720P resolution. The heavy bezels around the screen contribute to an 89% screen-to-body ratio.
Turn the new Vivo Y21 sibling over to reveal its textured, curved casing. You can pick from single-tone black and blue finishes. We find a raised squarish camera platform sticking out of this shell. Two lenses — 13MP wide and 2MP portrait lenses — are housed inside the island. The front camera, embedded inside the notch, is 5MP.
The build measures 8.28mm in depth and 178g in weight. A 3.5mm audio jack and an ancient micro-USB port are also on board. Unfortunately, no fingerprint security is available, either. But you can use the 2D Face Unlock feature.
The chip at the phone’s heart is not mentioned. But everything runs on a 5000 mAh battery without any FlashCharging support. The last-gen FunTouchOS 11 x Android 11 runs on the Vivo Y01, even though the new FunTouchOS 12 is out. 3GB of memory and 32GB of internal storage round off the setup. The new addition to the Vivo price catalog reportedly starts from EUR 100 (~ Rs. 19,900.)
