Vivo Y01 Goes Official in Pakistan; Long Battery Life, Ultra-affordable Price

Vivo Y01 launched in Pakistan today, as WhatMobile had predicted in a recent report. It’s an entry-level model just below the Vivo Y15s, featuring a beefy battery and an ultra-affordable price. Here’s a brief overview of the cheapest phone in Vivo’s current catalog.

Let’s start with the highlight of the phone — the 5000 mAh battery that powers it. Vivo Y01 can comfortably last a day or more on a single charge. Plus, it can be turned into a battery bank to reverse-charge your other devices.

The screen is a 6.51” IPS LCD that peaks at an unremarkable 720P resolution (while it’s not a competitive setup, it should save battery life.) A built-in Eye Protection mode protects your eyes. And the front camera resides inside a V-notch. Vivo Y01’s camera is a 13MP shooter housed inside a squarish cutout.

The frame of the Vivo budget mobile includes a hybrid SIM and microSD slot that supports up to 1TB of expansion. Vivo Y01 weighs 178g and comes in blue and black shades, both textured and curved. There’s no fingerprint scanner on the phone. The only biometric security feature is the 2D face unlocking.

Everything is powered by a 5000 mAh battery over an antiquated MicroUSB port (without any fast-charging.) The equally obsolete MediaTek Helio P35 chip covers processing. A low-end setup cannot run the full-fledged Android, so Vivo Y01 ships with a trimmed version of Android — the Android 11 Go edition. It comes in a single 2GB+32GB variant, starting from Rs. 19,999.
