Vivo Y02 became official in December 2022 and was well-received in the entry-level smartphone market. Today, another exciting iteration of that phone has launched in Bangladesh. The newcomer goes by the moniker "Vivo Y02A" and boasts significant improvements over its predecessor. Here's a quick rundown of the phone's specifications.

Nothing has changed in the phone's visual appeal. Vivo Y02A looks the same as the original, with a sizable camera ring, a boxy design, sharp edges, and a flat screen with a drop notch. The rear-facing camera only has a single shooter with a resolution of 8MP. The front shooter is also an ordinary 5MP snapper.

Under the hood, a 5000mAh cell backs the aged Helio P35 SoC teaming with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The memory hub is expandable; you can use a microSD card to bump up the storage. Additionally, the phone has 10W standard charging input via a micro USB port.

Running Vivo's latest budget model system is an Android 12 Go OS (a feature-trimmed version of Android 12, compensating for its low-capacity RAM and lackluster CPU). While it marks significant upgrades over its predecessor, it's still unable to pass the minimum threshold for a good entry-level phone.

For the screen, Vivo Y02A boasts an IPS 6.51-inch panel spanning corner to corner with chunky bezels, a slightly raised chin, and a drop-shaped camera cutout melting into the screen. It peaks at an HD+ resolution (720 x 1600) and 60Hz refresh rate.

It has all the essentials of a typical daily driver; dual SIM module, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a micro USB port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a max weight of 186 grams. In Bangladesh, it has started retail sales for BDT 12,499 or ~PKR 34,000.
