Vivo Y02s has been in the pipeline for quite some time now. Certification sites like Geekbench and FCC have also approved the handset. Interestingly, the Y02s was just logged on to Vivo’s official website before launch. However, that upload was removed right away, indicating a mistaken action. Still, we got a glimpse of what Vivo’s next entry-level player has to offer.

The sequel to this year's Vivo Y01 can be seen sporting a polycarbonate back with a glossy texture in the images. Flattened side rails and sloping edges give the Y02s a comfortable, yet premium hand feel. A MediaTek Helio P35 SoC will power the handset paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard memory.

On the front will be a 6.51” IPS LCD, probably with a 720p resolution. The Helio P35  on Vivo Y02s can only support a maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz. However, the battery life has not been compromised, as a 5,000 mAh cell will juice up the Y02s using 10W charging. Vivo has made some bold claims regarding the screen-on time the handset can bring to the table.

The optics also don’t impress much, comprising a single 8MP lens on the rear accompanied by an LED flash. The 5MP selfie shooter resides in a dewdrop notch on the front of the new Vivo 4G mobile. The presence of a Type-C port on an entry-level device is also a welcome approach. But, a fingerprint sensor is nowhere to be found on the Y02s. A dual-SIM tray and a 3.5mm audio jack round off the hardware.

The Vivo Y02s is tipped to arrive in Vibrant Black and Fluorite Blue finishes. However, the manufacturer is yet to finalize a launch date and schedule for the upcoming entry-level.
