Vivo Y04 Now Available in Pakistan with 90Hz IPS, Anti-Drop Design & IP64 Rating

Vivo Y04 launched in the Pakistani local market yesterday, as WhatMobile had predicted in a recent report. It’s an entry-level budget segment device just above the Vivo Y03t, featuring a beefy battery and an ultra-affordable price. Here is a brief overview of the new pocket-friendly smartphone in Vivo’s current catalog

This is an IP64-rated model, very durable and military-grade SGS 5-star rated for a drop-resistant chassis. Y04 even comes with a Wet Touch feature, so the touch will still function if you spill water on it or try to use it in the rain. The panel will discern your actions from accidental touches.

From what we learned about its design, Vivo Y04 has an anti-drop build, painted in Jade Green and Titanium Gold Colors. There are only two sensors on the back with only one function unit. The 13 MP first sensor will deal with all your camera needs, and a 0.08MP lens will assist. The selfie camera is a 5 MP unit on top of the panel.

That panel you see on the front is cropped to a 6.74” size with decent colors, getting 70% NTSC gamut coverage. This is a bright screen as well at 570 nits. Even though the Vivo 4G new model is meant to compete in the bottom segment, it still has that 90Hz fast refresh rate, though it did cheap out on the resolution, which is 720p HD+ only.

If you disregard the notch, it’s still a competitive device. This phone also brought a dual-speaker setup, so it gets pretty loud. Vivo 04 has also got a side-fingerprint reader. This option was not available in Y03, which could make this phone a worthy upgrade for previous users.

The hardware running this thing is a Unisoc T7225 chip, which, given its old architecture at 12nm, is still a good 8-core CPU with a 1.8GHz base frequency. Vivo gives you a 5500 mAh battery to power up this chip, and you can refill it with a 15W brick.

By default, this phone will ship with Android 14 out of the box, and the model launched in Pakistan will give you a maximum of 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. Of course, if that feels limiting, you can always install an SD card since that option is also available on this device. The all new Y04 is priced at Rs 28,999, just Rs 2,000 higher than the Vivo Y03t's price.
