Vivo Y100 hopped back into our radar when its new variant launched in Pakistan yesterday. The original one that you guys are familiar with had 8/256 GB config. And it was pricier also. But the one they launched now is more of a cheaper version with 8/128 GB storage. This refresh may even retrigger Y100's sales in Pakistan.
Remember! Only the storage has changed. Nothing else is different about this phone. It's still a 4G version. And we remember it has a 6.67" AMOLED E4 with high 1800nits peak brightness. 1080p resolution and 120Hz fluid refresh add to its charm. Always on display is another thing we like about it.
Being 4G and all, we only find a Snapdragon 685 clocker running inside it. You'll get most things done with it. But forget gaming or any other graphically intensive task. 8 GB RAM and now 128 GB storage seem good enough for general use by most of the consumer population.
We get to revisit the same bi-lens camera system that was there before in Y100. It's an assortment of a 50 MP first camera with a 2 MP helper for depth sensing. Nothing exciting there, sadly. That front dot punch hole is where we find an 8 MP selfie snapper tucked away in the Vivo budget new mobile.
80W wired charging is not what we'd normally see at this price. But Vivo Y100 had to stand out in some possible way. It can refill a 5000 mAh cell from 0-80% under thirty minutes. And that says something about it. A fingerprint ID atop the screen and an IP54 rating will also favor its sales.
