Vivo’s Y-series features the brand’s most affordable phones. And Vivo Y15 is one such entry-level model which has been refreshed and spun off into several models, spawning a series of Y15 phones. The latest of these editions, the Vivo Y15C, was just introduced in Pakistan. It was announced nationwide via an official press release. The official product page is also live on Vivo Pakistan’s website.
First off, the Y15C is not a new phone. It’s a mildly refreshed Vivo Y15s that has been retailing in Pakistan for almost a year. It makes the Y15C a relaunch of this budget-favorite Vivo but with a fresh coat of Android. Instead of Android 11 (which powers the Vivo Y15s), Vivo Y15 boots to Android 12 — overlaid with the FunTouchOS 12. The new UI brings new widgets and better multitasking with it.
Save for the newer OS; there’s nothing to write about the home screen. It has the same battery, chip, and casing. MediaTek Helio P35 — an old, low-performance chip — is at the heart of Vivo Y15C. The chip hooks up to a 5000 mAh battery that promises all-day battery life. But you’ll have to wait for it to juice up because Vivo doesn’t offer quick charging support. Also, the charging interface uses the obsolete MicroUSB standard.
The screen we’re looking at is a 6.51” IPS LCD. No features of note here either: it’s a basic 720P panel with a bleeding notch. Flip the new 4G Vivo mobile over to find its textured plastic shell, painted in Mystic Blue or Wave Green. The frame mounts a power button on the side, doubling as the fingerprint scanner. At 179g, Vivo has a Y15c lighter footprint.
Vivo Y15c features a simple 13MP camera on the back. It has a narrow f/2.2 aperture paired with a low-res portrait sensor. Selfies and Face Unlock work with an 8MP shooter. You can pick the Y15C in a single 4GB+64GB variant. It starts from Rs. 31,999 — so you’ll have to shell out an extra Rs. 5000 for the newer Android OS.
