Vivo has recently been in a smartphone frenzy, announcing a plethora of devices in a brief time span. And yet another handset, the Vivo Y15D, has just popped up on the IMEI database and will come to light soon. The Y15D goes by the model code V2161 and will initially debut in the Chinese market.
Moreover, the handset is expected to be a rehashed version of the already available Vivo Y15C. The IMEI listing confirms the handset’s model number and the alias Vivo Y15D. Unfortunately, the document reveals no other information. However, the Y15D will also be an entry-level handset like its cousin Y15c.
Both the handsets boast a similar set of features, so we can assume the offerings of Y15D to be pretty much similar to the Y15C. The Y15c deploys a MediaTek Helio G35 under the hood, with 3 gigs of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. There’s a 6.51-inches 720p IPS LCD on the front with a dewdrop notch housing the 8MP selfie shooter.
The rear polycarbonate shell of Vivo Y15C features some interesting patterns in Wave Green and Mystic Blue paint jobs. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner also sits on its right edge. For optics, the upcoming addition to the Vivo price list is expected to have a dual 13MP primary + 2MP secondary camera setup confined within a squarish module just like the 15C.
The Y15c offered excellent battery backup thanks to its large 5,000 mAh cell with 10W charging speeds and reverse charging technology. There’s a dedicated MicroSD slot, Micro USB port, headphone jack, and Bluetooth 5.2. The handset operates on Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11.1.
The upcoming Vivo Y15D is also rumored to embrace identical specifications with some minor tweaks and balances. Let’s wait for some official confirmation from Vivo to validate the surrounding leaks.
