Vivo has a whole host of devices under the pipeline, and the list keeps increasing. The newest addition would be the Vivo Y16, which will succeed the previous Vivo Y15s and Y15c handsets. The handset has recently received the FCC and BIS certifications hinting toward an imminent launch. Here’s a quick overview of the listing’s revelations.


The FCC database mentions the Vivo Y16 under the model number V2204. The listing also informs about the handset’s 4G connectivity with support for major LTE bands, VolTE, GPRS, EGPRS, and WCDMA. The IMEI certification confirms the moniker Y16. The BIS website mentions the Y16 with the same model code having dual-SIM capabilities, dual-band WiFi, and Bluetooth.

According to some leaks, the Y16 could be the first budget handset rocking a beautiful Gold finish on the rear. Summing up the available information, the Vivo Y16 could sport a 6.51’’ IPS LCD with FHD+ 1080p resolution. The handset will expectedly deploy the MediaTek Helio P35, rocking 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage.


For photography, Vivo's new Y model could feature a dual-lens setup comprising a 50MP primary camera with a secondary 2MP lens. On the front, an 8MP front shooter could be utilized for video calling and selfies. The battery cell electrifying the Y16 will probably be a 5,000 mAh cell supporting 18W Flash charging. Out of the box, the handset might operate on Android 12 with FunTouch OS on top.

The Vivo Y16 is rumored to arrive with a price tag of $144 or PKR 33,000; however, users are advised to take the information with a pinch of salt. The smartphone could hit some other Asian regions before launching in Pakistan.
