Vivo Y16 Coming to Pakistan Soon; Stellar Performance with Helio P35 & Phenomenal Design

Vivo Y16 ranks slightly above the entry tier and below the mid-range devices. It's at the sweet spot of prices right now. As an affordable smartphone, it has a lot of potential. Y16 got approval for global retail in September. The phone is finally going to make its way to Pakistan, and offline retail will follow its launch shortly.

As far as the design goes, the successor to Y15 shows off a striking slab-like form factor. It has vertical edges on the colors advertised as Drizzling Gold and Stellar Black. The glossy finish around camera plates pairs well with both its default colorways. Two camera silos pop out of the shell with no residual hump on the backplate.

Camera stats on Y16 are rather underwhelming. Under protruding lenses, it carries a 13 MP f/2.2 (wide) primary sensor, an auxiliary 2 MP f/2.4 (macro) unit, and an LED flash. For self-portraits, it carries an ordinary 5MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. All sensors produce 1080p videos at 30Fps.

Vivo Y16's shell canvases a large 6.51-inch IPS display with a v-notch melted into the screen. The bezels leave the new addition to the Vivo price list with an ~82% screen-to-body ratio and 270 PPI on a 720p resolution. It meets the current trend in the budget phone market with a 2.5D visor (a smooth curvature around the edges of the Y16's screen).

In core stats, users will find an MTK Helio P35 at its helm boasting four cores at 2.3GHz and four at 1.8GHz. The variant in Pakistan will serve 4GB-64GB RAM and storage. To provide a superior multitasking experience, the RAM gets up to 4GB of additional space to keep apps open in the background. With Android 12 on the home screen and a 5000mAh battery under the shell, Vivo Y16 brings a side-facing fingerprint reader for convenient unlocking.

While the phone is out in full glory, its pricing details remain a mystery, but that's for a limited time. An industry-bound source points out that the phone might cost around Rs. 44k. Once Officially revealed, we'll add the updated rate in Whatmobile's Price Catalog link above. The inclusion of the Vivo Y22 Retail Price was the last change made to the brand's price catalog as far as the most recent addition is concerned.
