This handset is the fourth installment in their Y18 series. Vivo Y18t has now gone official in an overseas market. What you see here is a high-refresh-rate, Unisoc-based phone that only targets the entry-tier segment, and does a fair job of putting together the right hardware for a price close to €100.
They used a 6.56” IPS panel on this phone, and even though it’s a low-res HD+ quality, we at least get a sweet 90Hz refresh speed, so it betters the visual motion. A notched cutout for an 8 MP selfie camera is also digestible at this price point, and they advertise the screen’s 850 nits brightness as the best in the segment.
Then, there’s a 50 MP main camera on the rear and an auxiliary unit that assists with photos in a two-step lens configuration. Those cameras are raised straight from the chassis, something we’ve seen repeatedly in their Y18 series.
There’s a fingerprint sensor on the side, right on top of the power button, and the Vivo's latest budget phone has a durability rating of IP54, which saves it from water splashes and dust. We also have a 5000mAh cell here, and the type-C port helps it with a 15W fast charging backup.
Vivo Y18t looks like the Y18i (even the Unisoc T612 SoC is the same), but we have more brightness here, a sharper 50 MP camera, faster Bluetooth 5.2, and even double the base storage. Vivo Y18t in a 4/128 GB trim has a light price tag of around €105 (~PKR 31,000), only €15 more than Y18i’s cost.
