Vivo Y19s Makes a Low-Key Debut with Unisoc Engine, Stereo Sound & IP64 Build

They introduced a new phone minutes ago with the name tag “Vivo Y19s.” There was no commotion, just a silent unveiling, and we learned that this phone isn’t a sequel to 2019’s Vivo Y19, but as it happens, this is here to replace the Vivo Y17s from last year.

We should preface things by saying that the phone looks great on paper, but they didn’t reveal its price, so it’s hard to guess if it's great for value or not. Y19s is a phone built around a 6.68” IPS that can push to 1000 nits of max brightness, and do 90Hz refresh rate.

But this is only a 720p resolution LCD, so you might have to make peace with this caveat. At least they gave it Low Blue Light Eye safety and a punch hole crop, that way it can be less intrusive. Display aside, that selfie camera seems subpar at only 5 MP.

Vivo's latest budget phone’s rear side has two lenses and an RGB ring, and the main unit here is a 50 MP sensor plus the second one’s auxiliary. They didn’t cheap out on the speaker side and gave it bottom and top-firing speakers in a stereo set that you can push to around 300% volume.

MIL-STD-810H compliance + IP64 rating make Y19s plenty durable and per their claim, the 5500mAh battery they used here can easily retain 80% health even after 4 years of use. Its Unisoc T612 chip isn’t as big a power hog so they claim 8 hours of Pubg and 20 Hours of Youtube playback, and for when it drains, there’s 15W charging.
