Vivo’s Y200 series hasn’t stopped growing yet. A new device has been added to the lineup in China, branded Vivo Y200+ 5G, which revisits the formula of cheap entry-level hardware built around a 5G-ready chipset. But, credit where the credit’s due, this phone has a fresh design and some upgrades.

This phone has launched with a decent Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip. It gives Vivo Y200 Plus a 5G cellular connection and an 8-core 2.21 Ghz clock for a lag-free user experience, not to forget some light gaming. 12 GB physical RAM and 512 GB storage are available with this phone in China.

ivo Y200+ 5G also uses a big 6.68” IPS screen with a quick 120Hz refresh rate. Granted it’s a huge display but the resolution is not as sharp at only HD+ 720p, though it gets plenty bright at 1000 nits. TUV gave it a low blue light rating and you have global DC dimming here, reducing screen flicker.

There are two cameras on the back of the latest 5G Vivo mobile: a 50 MP primary and a 2 MP depth shooter for optimized portraits, which makes a decent imaging setup. The front camera is where Vivo Y200+ cuts some corners to save costs. A low-quality 5 MP selfie sensor lies on the front inside the punch hole cutout.

It’s an IP64 build and Vivo advertises it with shock absorption for better durability. Y200+ 5G also has a fingerprint reader on the side, a 6000mAh battery within, and 44W fast charging support as the backup. CNY 1,099 or ~PKR 42,000 is the base price for the Vivo Y200 Plus 8/256GB variant.
