Vivo Y22 finally got announced yesterday following a series of product leaks. The latest entry-level model in the Y-series is offered at an affordable price. After the Vivo Y16, the Y22 just debuted in Indonesia featuring an Helio G95 chip, 50MP cameras, and a 90Hz display. The handset is expected to roll out to other markets in the coming weeks.
Measuring just 8.38mm thick the Vivo Y22 boasts a stunningly beautiful back. Equipped with Crystalline Mate Technology the back panel is susceptible to scratches and fingerprints. On the top, it has a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP Primary and a 2MP macro sensor.
Out on the front, we find an 8MP Selfie snapper contained inside a teardrop notch. The all-new Y22 features a 6.5" IPS screen with 90Hz refresh support. The display supports a screen brightness of up to 530nits, making viewing comfortable in direct sunlight.
It’s all powered by a 5000 mAh battery and 18W flash charging. Processing is all handled by the MediaTek Helio G85 chip. The y22 brings 4GB/6GB of multitasking memory and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. Android11-based FunTouchOS 12 runs on the latest Vivo budget mobile out of the box. Plus, you get up to 2 gigabytes of RAM extension feature.
The rest of the highlights comprise an IPX4/X5 rating, a side-mounted thumb scanner (embedded in the power button), face id, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm Audio jack, and a USB type C port.
Though not yet available on the store shelves, Vivo Y22 is said to bring some trendy shades of Summer Cyan, Metaverse Green, and, Starlit Blue colors. The price for the 4GB/64GB edition is announced to be 2,399,000 Indonesian Rupiah which converts to some 35,000 Pakistani rupees. No official word yet on the smartphone's release in Pakistan.
