Vivo recently launched the new Y29 5G in India. And as per our internal sources, the handset is next in line for the Pakistani market. This is a brand new entry-level phone from the company, unveiled only a few days ago, and we are already hearing chatter about Y29 landing in our market shortly. Here are some of its specifications. See if this phone is worth your while.

This is an IP64-rated handset, waterproof and safe from the elements. Vivo Y29 even has a military standard MIL-STD-810H compliant shockproof chassis, which means it has a semi-rugged design in Glacier Blue, Titanium Gold, and Diamond Black colors.

It weighs only 198g at an 8.1mm thickness, typical for devices within the price range. A standard 6.68” size 120Hz LCD panel is slapped on the front of the Vivo Y29. It is bright at 1000nits, but not as sharp with only a 720p HD+ resolution. At least the screen looks premium due to uniform bezels and a hole-punch selfie camera.

Sadly, the Vivo budget new mobile has Android 14 as its default OS, not the latest Android 15. Dimensity 6300 SoC handles the system at 2.4GHz clock speed and its applications are run with 4-8 GB RAM, plus 128 GB to 256 GB eMMC 5.1 storage.  A Mali-G57 MC2 GPU lets you play some light, non-intensive games.

Vivo Y29 has a front and bottom-firing speaker with a 5500mAh battery inside the body, rechargeable at 44W. The main back camera is 50 MP with AutoFocus, which is helped by an LED ring flash. Then, there’s an 8 MP selfie camera on the front.

Its Bluetooth is the latest version 5.4 but the WiFi is only dual-band 2.4 and 5GHz. This phone also has a fingerprint ID on the side, atop the power button. Vivo Y29’s starter price overseas is only $165 (~PKR 46,000) for the 4/128GB memory trim. We don’t have the exact launch date. However, the phone is headed to Pakistan soon, presumably before mid-January.
