Vivo Y29 has officially entered one of our neighboring Asian markets, and its Pakistani launch is also around the corner. It has the latest entry-level Dimensity chip, so it must be 5G ready, and the hardware details show its leading memory configuration is 8/256GB.
With a launch to follow in other regions, including Pakistan very soon, we have first seen this handset debut in India. Suffice it to say that it shall come to Pakistan, just like the parent Vivo Y28, but there’s a chance Vivo Y29 might show up here as a 4G version.
This phone is entry-level with nothing, but a straightforward spec sheet, except for the IP64 rating or Military-grade shockproofing. This kind of durability is rare and only available on a few devices at this level. It seals shut a 5000mAh typical-size battery and 44W charging.
That flat screen on Vivo budget 5G new mobile’s front side is an IPS HD+ panel that can push pixels at a 120Hz refresh rate. A 1000 nits brightness is a high achievement for liquid crystal displays with plenty of visibility under the sun or in some well-lit surroundings.

Vivo Y29 uses Funtouch OS 14, a proprietary Android 14 build from Vivo. It runs on an 8-core 2.4GHz Dimensity 6300 engine, so the software experience should be smooth and lag-free. Its fingerprint reader is on the side, right where the power button lies, and there are two speakers for stereo sound. Vivo Y29’s starter price is only $165 (~PKR 46,000) internationally for the 128GB + 4GB option.
