Vivo Y37 Unveiled as a Low-cost 5G Phone with Dimensity 6300 & 90Hz IPS Display

Vivo Y37 is their new affordable phone, and it comes with 5G. It’s exclusive only to China right now. But who knows, they may even launch it in other markets. This newcomer checks all the right boxes for a daily driver. But there are little caveats you ought to know.

Vivo Y37 cuts back on features to bring 5G at its price. There’s a 720p resolution here for a 6.56” display. That’s one of the first things they cheaped out on. But it doesn’t mean you can’t daily drive this thing. Also, we have a 90Hz refresh rate here. So it won’t be as disappointing.

Vivo’s boxy designs are all the rage in the lower segment. Flat side rails and a protruded camera housing on the back have an aesthetic appeal to them. Y37 is 8.39 mm thick, but at least its weight is comfy at 185g.

Part of its charm and the main selling point for this phone is Dimensity 6300 SoC. That’s the cheapest option out there for 5G connectivity. 6nm architecture means that the Vivo new budget 5G model will have a low bearing on the cell. And they pair it with eMMC5.1 ROM and LPDDR4X RAM.

Cameras may not be its strong suit. There’s a 13 MP sensor on the back. And down below is an assistant module. It can take 5 MP selfies only from that front camera. 5000mAh cell is appropriate for a phone in this segment, and there’s 15W charging support for backup. The base configuration Vivo Y37 (4/128GB) costs 1,199 yuan (~PKR 46,000).
