Unveiled silently in a 5G configuration, Vivo Y39 is a head-turner and we believe this device will sell like hotcakes in any market it reaches. So far, the only traces of this handset we can find are in Malaysia, and the details you are about to read here are straight from the company’s website in the region.

This is a slim device, although not a game changer with its 8.09mm profile. But it’s surprising to see a 6500mAh battery fit into such a thin package. Though we have seen something similar on Vivo Y28 earlier, but it packs a lesser, 6,000mah battery. This massive cell will allow a fast charge input of 44W superVOOC, which you can expect to fill up in a mere 83 minutes.

The camera appearance has changed, though we are very familiar with the lens layout featured with Y39 5G. There’s a small Ring LED right beside its 50 MP primary unit and an assistive 2 MP bokeh lens. It’s minimal and gets the job done. The selfie camera is an 8 MP shooter hidden in a punch-hole cutout.

Vivo smartphone price remains competitive in the market. Over the past generation, the screen hasn’t changed much. It’s still 6.68” with a decent view but capped to a 720p HD+ resolution only. Though we doubt anyone would complain about its 120Hz refresh rate or 1000nits peak brightness. IP64 rating is also a part of the package, so you get durability and peace of mind.

Since it is an affordable 5G device, we see an entry-tier Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip on the Vivo Y39 5G. This is a 4nm chip, very efficient with a 2.2GHz clock speed. Over its 6-month cycle, the phone was also given the latest Android 15 x FunTouch OS 15, so it’s up-to-date with all the new Google x Vivo features.

This handset has 8 GB RAM from the get-go. You even have plenty of space on Y39 5G to save the files with its 256GB storage. A flat design and a circular mesh for the camera fit perfectly with the phone’s Ocean Blue and Galaxy Purple finishes, but mind the thickness since one of them is 8.09mm thin while the other gets bulky at 8.19mm.

You also get access to options like Bluetooth 5.1, NFC support, and even Dual-band WiFi. The screen is unlocked through a side fingerprint ID. Vivo Y39 5G (8/256GB) has been launched in Malaysia with a very appropriate price tag of $225 (~PKR 62,000).
