Vivo is developing a new handset, the Vivo Y39, hailing from its entry-level Y series. Geekbench’s database recently got updated with a serial number allegedly belonging to Vivo Y39. Some of its key details and specs were present on the benchmark listing.
“Vivo V2444A” seems to be the model number assigned to Y39. Before Geekbench tested this phone, it also appeared on GSMA’s IMEI database, associated with a device called Jovi Y39. Reports suggest that it might be a rebranded Vivo Y39 from Vivo’s new subsidiary.
If you haven’t heard about it, Vivo might soon introduce a new sub-brand after iQoo to tap some unreached markets, titled “Jovi.” Vivo and Jovi Y39 will have different names but the same model numbers and specs, so you can expect this Geekbench listing to reflect either phone’s performance.
It’s a 5G-ready device and the chipset used here is Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. The peak frequency for this chip is 2.21 GHz on an 8-core architecture, a decent entry-level SoC. Geekbench tested an 8 GB variant of Vivo Y39 but there might be more versions on the way.
Vivo Y39 might boot to an Android 15 OS out of the box. 8 GB RAM paired with 8-core Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 yields 912 single-core points, and the multi-core results topped out at 2214 points.
Geekbench only exposed the phone’s model number, so we can’t confirm if it’s a Jovi Y39 meant for Brazil, or a Vivo Y39 for other global markets. Either way, Geekbench left some interesting clues today, and we’ll surely learn more about the phone in the coming weeks.
