Vivo Y55 4G Starts its Global Debut in Nepal - Next Stop Pakistan; Here's the Timeline & Pricing

Vivo’s Y-series of smartphones features some of the best budget and mid-range devices. The latest addition to this lineup is the Vivo Y55, which was recently launched in Nepal. The new Vivo Y33T's sibling boasts an impressive set of specs and will soon be unveiled to the Pakistani market. 


The all-new Vivo Y55 4G is all set to launch in Pakistan on the 2nd of July and we also expect a short pre-order to follow the announcements. Starting off with the design, the Y55 flaunts a 3D curved back with a premium, frosted finish offering a comfortable in-hand feel. Dimensionally, the device measures 160.80 x 73.79 x 8.42 mm with a lightweight 182g body. 

Flipping the handset reveals a beautiful 6.4’’ Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a crisp 1080p resolution. Unfortunately, the display refreshes at a standard 60Hz; however, it does support a 180Hz touch sampling, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 408PPI density. There’s also a 16 MP selfie shooter found in a water-drop notch to the front.


The Y55’s triple rear camera setup is housed within two circular rings, as seen on Vivo’s current flagship devices. The primary lens is kept at 50 MP, accompanied by a 2 MP depth and a 2MP macro camera, and the layout sits on a shiny rectangular camera island. The handset will join the Vivo rate list soon.


Running the handset is a Snapdragon 680 SoC with up to 8GB RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Based on a 6nm architecture, this octa-core chipset is coupled with an Adreno 610 GPU for a smooth performance. The handset runs on FunTouch OS 12 out of the box based on Android 12. Moreover, it supports a dedicated SD-card slot for storage expansion.

This setup is backed up by a massive 5,000 mAh battery, basting a 44W Flash charge. The smartphone will be available in Midnight Galaxy and Ice Dawn colors, among others, The handset starts at 33,999 Nepalese rupees which directly converts to some 56,000 Pakistani rupees. WhatMobile expects the handset to cost anywhere near 50,000 PKR.
