Vivo Y55 is a New Mid-range Phone Featuring 44W Charging and OLED Display

Vivo Y55 4G is yet another budget phone from the BBK-owned brand. The new sibling of the Vivo Y21 the latest in a long string of formulaic entry-level releases under the Y-series branding. Let’s take a quick look.


Vivo Y55 4G rocks the new camera layout we’ve seen in recent flagship phones from Vivo. The lens cluster is divided between two camera housings, featuring 50 MP wide, 2 MP macro, and 2 MP portrait shooters. They can shoot in double exposure, portrait, and multiple night modes. But no ultra-wide shooting is available. 

The housings sit on a rectangular protrusion. Vivo Y55 clocks in at 182g in weight and 8.42mm in thickness. You can pick the curved, chamfered casing in iridescent white and black colors.


The display of the new addition to the Vivo price list has a U-shaped notch bleeding into it. We’re looking at a 6.44” AMOLED that peaks at 1080P resolution and a responsive 180Hz touch sampling rate. The camera embedded in this screen is 16MP. Plus, Vivo has hidden an optical fingerprint scanner below this display. 


A 5000 mAh battery and 44W Flash Charge power the Vivo Y55. Vivo promises a 50% recharge in just 28 minutes! And a single charge can last 18 hours of video streaming or 10 hours of intensive gameplay. 

The number-crunching is all covered by the low-end Snapdragon 680 chip. You get 8GB of memory and 128GB of expandable internal storage. And the latest Android 12 x FunTouchOS 12 is shipped with the Vivo Y55. The speakers are single-firing, but Vivo has included a 3.5mm audio jack in the frame.
