After the recent Vivo Y31 Launch in Pakistan, the brand is rolling out their latest budget 5G phone, the Y72 5G, to more markets. The phone launched in Thailand last month; its next stop seems to be Singapore and other Asian countries (possibly Pakistan too).
Vivo Y72 5G first surfaced in a product listing out of Thailand under the model name “V2041.” The same phone later visited the Google Play Console database. Most recently, the Twitter phone leaker Mukul Sharma, better known as @stufflistings, spotted the Y72 5G on the Singapore IMDA library.
Dimensity 700 — the cheapest entry-level 5G chip from MediaTek’s catalog — is at the heart of Vivo Y72 5G. It’s based on a 7nm process and powered by a 5000 mAh battery that fast charges over 18W. You get 8GB of memory and 128GB of expandable storage. The latest Android11-based FunTouchOS 11.1 runs on the Vivo Y72.
The camera plate of the New Vivo model 2021 is painted in an even tone and houses three lenses. We’re looking at a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP 120° super-wide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor. Out on the front, there’s a 16MP selfie shooter. Vivo’s image processing supports EIS, personalized portrait, and super night modes.
The display is a 6.58” IPS LCD panel with a Full HD resolution and a 90.6% screen-to-body ratio. A notch bleeds into the screen, and there’s a thumbprint scanner merged with the power button. Vivo Y72 5G comes in Dream Glow and Graphite Black colorways. And starts from EUR 270 (~ Rs. 49,000.)
