Vivo has another budget phone under R&D. Lately, a Google Play Console listing for the model “PD2278” is heating the Media Bizz, mainly due to its strikingly familiar name — Vivo Y78m. Earlier this month, the company introduced a phone called Vivo Y78, which shares identical features with this newly discovered variant.
Identical to its original counterpart, the Y78m is expected to sport a Full HD+ resolution display featuring a punch-hole cutout. Under the hood, it will be powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7020 processor, and accompanying it will be an overkill 12GB RAM.
Continuing Vivo's trend, the Y78m will launch with the latest Android 13 operating system. It will incorporate Vivo's Funtouch OS 13 skin with a customized user interface and additional features tailored to enhance the overall user experience.
Apart from these specifications and software offerings of Vivo new Y model, the GPC listing didn’t spill any crucial specs such as cameras, battery, or display size. Fortunately, the rumor mill has managed to discover its elusive inventory.
Multiple reports on Y78m hint at a 6.4-inch display and a dual-camera setup on the back. It allegedly features a 50MP primary camera accompanied by a 2MP secondary lens. The selfie camera resides in a punch-hole. The phone continues to impress with its peripherals, a USB type-C port 2.0, and a headphone jack.
Additionally, rumors suggest that the Vivo Y78m could bear a substantial 5,000mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging technology. The phone’s memory hub will also encapsulate 256GB of storage; however, there’s still no word about its expandability.
