While we wait for the Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12 to drop, teaser previews (both official and leaked) continue to crop up on the internet. The latest in this string of leaks gives us the color options and detailed specs for the Mi 12.
Evan Blass, better known as @evleaks, tweeted three press images. They showcase the Xiaomi 12 in three colors: leather finished mint, matte grey, and glossy blue. The leather texture seems premium to the touch. And the blue edition has a glassy back.
The rails are slim, curved, and match the backplate color. The screen subtly melts along the edges. Plus, Xiaomi has trimmed the bezel to make for extra screen real estate. Overall, the Xiaomi 12 features a more compact footprint than its predecessor.
We’re looking at a 6.28” AMOLED. The display peaks at 1080P in resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 16000 brightness steps. The smaller footprint of the new leaked Xiaomi mobile makes for better reachability from corner to corner for single-handed use. DisplayMate rates it A+. Xiaomi 12 also supports 10-bit color and HDR10+ content.
Three cameras are housed inside the raised rectangle on the back. It’s a cluster of OIS-enabled 50MP f/1.9 wide, 13MP superwide, and OIS-powered 3x telephoto lenses.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, their latest flagship chip, is at the heart of Xiaomi 12. Ultra-fast LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage round off the platform. The battery inside the phone is 4500 mAh. It’s powered by 67W wired charging and 30W wireless charging. Xiaomi 12 comes in 128GB+8GB and 256GB+12GB options. The base variant starts from CNY 3,699 (~ Rs. 103,000.)
