Xiaomi has been teasing its 12 Lite for quite some time now. We even got to see a leaked hands-on clip revealing most of its design. Finally, the 12 Lite got publicized by Xiaomi during the Eid holidays. The handset is taking on the legacy of slim and attractive design language from its predecessor, the Mi 11 Lite NE. The smartphone brings a premium-level experience at a budget price with a combination of great hardware and software features.
Starting off with the design, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G brings an exquisite design to the table with a seamless unibody form factor and matte finish. The rear features a tri-camera cluster deploying a studio-grade 108MP OIS-enabled primary lens. It is a Samsung HM2 sensor paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens with 120° FOV and a 2MP macro shooter.
Under the hood, a Snapdragon 778G chipset is paired with 8GB/6GB RAM and 128GB/256GB of fast UFS 2.2 storage. Powering the 12 Lite is a 4,300 mAh battery cell with support for 67W Turbo charging. The device operates on MIUI 13, running over Android 12 OS.
For the media experience, there's a beautiful 6.55’’ FHD+ 120 Hz AMOLED display on the new Xiaomi lite mobile. The screen offers 68 Billion colors, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and a 240 Hz touch sampling rate. A punch hole cutout sits rights in the middle, accommodating the 32MP selfie lens. There’s also a stereo speaker setup, in-display fingerprint scanner, and Dual SIM support.
The starting price for the 6GB/128GB variant is $400 and goes up to $500 for the 8GB/256GB model. It translates to around 94,000 PKR, while the Xiaomi 12 Lite will be available in Lite Green, Lite Pink, and Black finishes.
