As promised, Xiaomi unveiled MI 13, MI 13 Lite, and MI 13 Pro for the global market yesterday. Pre-MWC, the chain staged an event in Barcelona to showcase a new suite of MI products, including the smartphones, Watch  S1 Pro, MIUI 14, Xiaomi CyberDog, and CyberOne. However, the newcomer handhelds were the center of attention.

New Xiaomi releases, the MI 13 and MI Pro, debuted in China first and have now been re-released globally. MI 13 Lite, on the other hand, has debuted for the first time. Nothing interesting has yet surfaced on the lite variant, but we have plenty to report on Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. Let’s begin.

Xiaomi 13

The Middle-sib brings a compact form factor with a 6.36-inch flat screen bearing FULL HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, brightness peaking at 1900nits, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG Video support. The pinhole on top has a 16MP selfie unit, and under the screen lies a biometric reader.

At the MI 13’s core, a Snapodragon 8 Gen 2 SoC lives baked with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of fast UFS 4.0 storage. The VC liquid cooling system helps dissipate the heat under intense use. Powered by a 4500mAh cell, it recharges with the help of a 67W power adapter.

In photography, MI 13 backs a LEICA-powered camera module with a 50MP OIS-enabled primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide unit, and a 10MP telephoto unit. In three color options, Ceramic White, Ceramic Black, and Flora Green, the MI 13 start at 999 EUR (~272,000 PKR).

Xiaomi 13 Pro

The Pro variant is better at photography. The rear camera setup brings a 1-inch 50MP primary sensor teamed with a 50MP Wide and a 50MP telephoto unit. In the centered punch-hole up top lies a 16MP sensor for self-portraits.

MI 13 Pro leverages a sizable curved AMOLED panel at 6.73 inches with QHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1900 nits brightness. Additionally, the screen hides a Biometric reader for security and quick access.

Pro Xiaomi 13 has the same SoC as the standard variant, with the storage peaking at 512GB and 12GB (LPDDR5 and UFS 4.0). It draws power from a 4,820mAh cell with faster 120W wired charging, 50W wireless, and up to 10W reverse wireless charging. For added charging protection, it has Xiaomi’s Surge G1 chip. MI 13 Pro starts at 1,299 EUR (~353,000 PKR).

In additional features, the new Xiaomi Duo packs Android 13 support, an IP68 rating, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, IR Blaster, a USB-C port, WiFi 7, and Dolby-tuned stereo speakers. The chain has finally extended the software support to three Years of OS updates and five years of security patches. In terms of the more affordable ones, the 10C is quite a popular choice for teenagers in the country. You can check out the Redmi 10C price in Pakistan & specs here.
