Xiaomi 15 & 15 Pro Look Sharp in These New Renders; Launch Set for October 29

There was a last-second change of plans for the Xiaomi 15 series release as it didn’t launch on October 23rd. Xiaomi CEO Lu Weibing said on Weibo yesterday that the company will officially roll off the curtains on October 29th, 7 PM China time. Hopefully, we won’t see any surprises along the way.

Before this debut finally unfolds, someone has dug up multiple previews of the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro phones, and now they are blowing up on the internet. These images were first seen on X/Twitter and the source behind this leak seems to be blogger Kartikey Singh.

Xiaomi 15 Pro is a slab of 8.35mm profile and its weight seems nearly 8.35 mm. Is it chunky, yes! But it’s still 10g lighter than the Pro 14 from last year. They want to keep it flat with no curves this time.

Flat profile and micro curves on all four sides, is a recipe phone makers are using these days to shrink bezels, and it’s working by the looks of it. Their bezels are barely visible on Xiaomi 15 Pro, or even the vanilla 15, for that matter.

They say the bezels on Xiaomi 16 are 1.38mm on a 6.36” AMOLED, the thinnest we’ve seen so far, except the Find X8. Looking to the back, we see a boxy design layout where the cameras land and each seems to have three lenses at least.

Smack-dab in the middle, like always, we see LEICA branding, so they keep the partnership strong even with this series. We see the promotion of an Ultrasonic fingerprint reader in one of the images. They probably unlock faster and more accurately.
