October 2024 is when Xiaomi plans to drop its flagship pair. That’s right. You have yet to see the best of this company. There have been many leaks on Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro before. But the one we spotted today blows everything out of the water. It comes from a Weibo leaker with the alias ‘Zou Jiachen.’
They somehow got their hands on the imminent spec sheet of the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro. And, of course, they let the image loose on the internet. We learned that the Xiaomi 15 is a compact one. It is no bigger than a 6.36” OLED flat panel. And peaks at around 1.5K resolution (1400 nits typical brightness).
Xiaomi 15 Pro screen at 6.78” is your standard-size panel. OLED tech is the same on both. And so is the 120Hz refresh rate and HBM 1400 nits brightness. But the Pro will be 2K resolution. We’ve been hearing about it plenty. And this leak confirms it as well. Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be the engine under its hood.
The fastest standard storage and RAM are also coming, by the looks of it. LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0. They packed a 4800 to 4900 mAh cell in these Xiaomi new flagship phones. It will get the backup from 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. But the Pro will be at 5,400mAh, 120W wired, and 80W wireless charging.
With the recent leak, things are looking up for Xiaomi 15 Pro’s camera. 50 MP OmniVision OV50N alpha unit is in a class of its own. Then there are 50 MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide and periscope telephoto 3x zoomer.
Vanilla 15 is almost on par with that 50 MP (primary) + 50 MP (ultrawide) + 3X telephoto. And they both do 32 MP selfies. 5.5G connectivity and IP68 rating are the best of both worlds. Linear motors will give these phones tactile feedback. And Fingerprint sensors will be on their screens.
