Xiaomi 15 Pro Surfaced in Live Image, Shows Off New Camera Island Design

Their Xiaomi 15 series is coming this month, and they have even confirmed the launch date set for October 20th, so this will be the final week of anticipation for us. There was a leak that dropped a few early renders of the Xiaomi 15 Pro some days ago but something way more exciting has come out now.

There was a new development yesterday. A spy shot of Xiaomi Group Vice President Wang Xiaoyan was taken in public and he was holding the Xiaomi 15 Pro in his hands at the time, so we got to see the first-ever appearance of this phone in the wild.

Those renders we hinted at before align with what we see in this live image we found, especially if you look closely at the camera bump. Also, this design can be easily confused with the Xiaomi 14 Pro, but if you find yourself in the same boat, Xiaomi's upcoming 5G smartphone’s Flash sits outside the lens module, not inside it like the 14 Pro, so that will be the easiest hint.

Of course, this minor redesign doesn’t constitute a full revamp, but they had to rearrange some elements so there’s more room to install a new periscope telemacro-type lens. They say it should do 5x zoom and about a 30cm focus distance for those macro shots.

It will be a phone built around a 6.78” quad-curve AMOLED that can do a 120Hz refresh rate, and that TCL-made panel will be at 2K resolution. They picked the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 to run it, and the best part is its 6000mAh cell that will charge through 90W wired or 80W wireless inputs.
