Xiaomi 15 Ultra's Leaked Camera Setup to Outshine Galaxy S25 Ultra

Someone has leaked the Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera specifications on X, and we are relieved to know what’s coming. The Galaxy S25 series was disappointing with all the emphasis on software optimizations, and not nearly enough upgrades to the hardware or the cameras. Xiaomi 15 Ultra is now on everyone’s radar as an alternative.

This phone will launch in China by the end of February, probably taken to the stage at MWC 2025. Its global debut might happen at the beginning of March, but this is merely a speculation. Let’s wait for the company to reveal its true plans in the weeks ahead. Before the event, Yogesh Brar shared his two cents about the cameras on Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

His leak on X says that the phone uses a Quad-lens setup on the back with some bleeding-edge hardware and a lot of pixels. Three of these lenses have 50 MP sensors, and we also have one with a 200 MP sensor that can take zoom shots. Brar’s leak is aligned with many previous reports.

The first and main camera is a 50MP primary 1-inch type sensor made by Sony. It’s their latest flagship Sony LYT-900 unit, with the same lens topography as an Oppo Find X7. This is a top-tier camera, so you’ll be able to extract some great pictures from the latest Xiaomi Ultra mobile.

The second lens is a familiar 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor, which the 15 Ultra will use for Ultrawide photography. Smartphones, even in flagship categories, are far from perfection when it comes to Ultrawide shots, but this 50MP x JN5 x Ultrawide assortment may be setting some records this time.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra will follow suit and keep using two zoom telephoto cameras, like its forerunners. One Zoom camera is a 50 MP standard 3x Telephoto built around a Sony IMX858 sensor. But we know the spotlight will be on the fourth and final 200 MP periscope telephoto lens with 4.3 times zoom.

The sensor is an ISOCELL HP9, which is a familiar one for Vivo X200 Pro users. Even the Galaxy S25 Ultra cannot beat the X200 Pro in zoom photography, and Xiaomi also wants a piece of the pie. So, we might find the same 200 MP zoom lens on the Xioami 15 Ultra as well. The MWC 2025 isn’t far. We’ll see how that camera operates in real life once the company launches it on February 26th.
