Xiaomi is soon coming out with a new smartphone series. The brand teased the upcoming Xiaomi Civi on their social media pages as a design and camera-friendly phone. The promos detail a launch timeline but do not showcase any previews. But a phone leaker followed up on this announcement with a slew of press images.

The tipster Digital Chat Station published a set of 12 product images and three posters. The highlight of the Xiaomi Civi is its design. At 166g of weight and 6.98mm of depth, it is the most featherweight, the slimmest Xiaomi phone yet. The Civi draws heavy inspiration from BBK-branded Vivo and OPPO phones.

The shell has a sparkly, grainy finish, not unlike the ‘Reno Glow’ design you find on Oppo Reno phones. You can pick from a bluish, iridescent, and matte black colorway. Plus, the camera cluster adopts the cyclops-like layout that Vivo has popularized in recent years.

Three lenses and the LED flash reside on a raised, chrome platform. The metal frame of the upcoming addition to the Xiaomi price list, containing Dolby Atmos dual speakers and a USB-C interface, has gold-shaded accents. One 64MP wide lens leads the camera system.

Flip the Xiaomi Civi over to find a tall 6.55” display. It’s bordered by a slim, even bezel and houses its front 32 MP camera inside a centered hole punch. The screen produces a 1080P resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. An optical fingerprint scanner is hidden under it.

Everything is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G and a 4500 mAh battery. The Civi charges over a 55W wired charging brick that ships with the phone. You get MIUI 12 running on this hardware out of the box.
