There haven't been any official announcements since the Xiaomi Mi 11 launch, but, as always, the Chinese brand has more Mi 11 editions in store for us. The Mi 11 Lite, whose product images were previously leaked online, has been spotted in another leaked promotional image. The specifications are scarce, but the leak is telling design-wise.
The source is Digital Chat Station, a trusted Chinese leaker with a long and proven track record. They note that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is slim and flat. Unlike the standard Mi 11 that curves along the edges of its screen, the Lite edition uses a plain and flat hole-punch display.
Similarly, its backplate looks more or less identical to Mi 11's. Its dimensions haven't been shared, but the Mi 11 Lite has rounded housing for the cameras, plus a satin finish on the shell. Also, the bezel around the screen appears to have grown thicker.
Next, the camera system of Mi 11 lite is made of three units: two with wide lenses and the third with a narrower aperture. Based on an educated guess, we're looking at a wide, wide-angle, and macro camera array at an affordable Xiaomi mobile price.
Last year's Mi 10 Lite had an AMOLED screen with a built-in fingerprint scanner. So unless Xiaomi is planning to downgrade the screen to LCD, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite should feature an OLED screen. The display was a big selling point for the Mi 11. In fact, its screen is currently the most responsive on the market. So you can expect some of its features to trickle down to the Lite edition.
