Xiaomi Mi 11T and Redmi K40 Ultra Leak Identifies Triple-camera and Flagship MediaTek Silicon

Two new respective editions of the flagship Redmi K40 and Xiaomi Mi 11 — the K40 Ultra and Mi 11T — are currently in the works. And the rumor mill has given us the specs, not to mention a possible launch timeline. Here is what the K40 Ultra and the MI 11T have to offer.

The leak comes from the XiaomiUI Telegram group. It specifies the codename ‘AMBER’ for the Mi 11T and ‘AGATE’ for the K40 Ultra. The Xiaomi Mi 11T is the sequel to last year’s Mi 10T, featuring a 20:9 screen that delivers a 120Hz refresh rate (trimmed down from 144Hz.) But where the previous-gen Mi 10T had an IPS LCD, the Mi 11T rocks an OLED panel.

For the camera system, we’re reportedly looking at a 64MP OmniVision wide camera, an 8MP IMX355 ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP telemacro sensor with 3x magnification.

Xiaomi is switching out the last-gen Qualcomm chip with MediaTek silicon this year. Instead of the Snapdragon 865, the Mi 11T will join the Xiaomi price list with a 6nm Dimensity 1200 at its heart. The Redmi 40 Ultra shares many of its specifications with the Mi 11T, but it’s limited to the Chinese market.

The Redmi K40 Ultra is also the first phone in the series to use MediaTek’s chip. Note, however, that the Ultra features a 108MP Samsung-made HM2 sensor instead of the 64MP camera.

If the launch date for the Mi 10T is any guide, the Mi 11T should make its official debut in October. XiaomiUI has made a couple of reliable predictions in recent seasons, but a few have been hit and miss too. We’ll keep you posted as the story develops.
